John Williams AKA Big Dubs, Born in Riverside California- a 6 foot 5 ex-professional basketball player with a good ear for music. I have written and produced all of my music. I grew up listening to a lot of hip-hop and R&B music of the 70?s and 80?s. My favorite artists ever would be between Rakim and Nas! Outkast is slowly becoming a favorite also. In R&B, my favorite artists are: Marvin Gaye and the Isley Brothers.
I grew up raising myself in life. I had to learn a lot of things on my own. Basketball and music were like an outlet for me in my life when I got down and wanted to give up and when I broke a wrist on my shooting hand. Then, I broke two bones in my knee. I knew that basketball was something that I couldn?t do for long. I always wrote songs on road trips and after the games. I just was blessed with a great basketball talent. I know, it sounds like we all heard this before from a young black man Huh? All in all, music was my one true love and I was destined to do what I do the way I do!
I?ve always been known as the class clown, the guy to speak his mind no matter who gets hurt. At the same time, I?m down to earth and humble. My music is a reflection of everything I do in my life. I can be honest and say about 80% of everything I write is real. Sometimes I go out there but, I never want my music to sound like something I?m not. I am a true artist. I am proud of the work that I have done and I look forward to growing in the future. I want to welcome the world to my life and my vision. Thank you all for giving me love and supporting No Equal Music??..
